This space was created from a deep belief that self-care is not a luxury, escape or indulgence. Self-care is the foundational framework to the quality of relationship you have with yourself and the quality of your life.
Over the years, I’ve come to understand that living well is not found in perfection, performance, or constantly doing more. It is found in learning how to live with greater awareness, intention, reflection, and compassion toward the imperfections of ourselves and others.
My work is rooted in the understanding that healing and growth are non-negotiable, lifelong practices of leaning in and listening inward, honoring our complex humanity, caring for and regulating the nervous system, and creating sustainable habits that supports both resilience and peace.
Returning to North Carolina has deepened that perspective for me in many ways. It has been a quieter and more intentional chapter rooted in simplicity, reflection, nervous system restoration, meaningful connection, and living in greater alignment with my values and the woman I have chosen to become.
What I continue to learn is that self-care is not about escaping life’s challenges, but about learning how to move through them with greater presence, self-awareness, acceptance, grace and support.
It is about slowing down enough to hear yourself again.
To reconnect with your values.
To hear and trust your intuition.
To hear and honor your limits.
To nourish your body and mind with care and intention.
And to create a life that feels sustainable, meaningful, and unapologetically your own.
Self-Care Mastery and The Ten Pillars of Health were created from that understanding.
This work is not about chasing a wellness ideal. It is about learning how to live with greater awareness, more intention, balance, and compassion toward yourself and your life. Through self-reflection, supportive practices, mindful movement, honest conversation, and intentional self-care, my hope is to help women reconnect with themselves to create more grounded, sustainable ways of living and healing.
I bring both lived experience and professional training in holistic health, nutrition, life coaching, and yoga education. My background also includes more than two decades of experience in business ownership, leadership, wellness education, and holistic client support. But more than anything, I bring compassion, understanding, and the belief that meaningful healing happens gently, intentionally, and in community with others.
You do not need to become someone else to heal.
Often, healing is not about reinventing yourself, but about returning to the parts of yourself that were quieted, overlooked, exhausted, or disconnected along the way. And while that return can feel unfamiliar at first, it is often because you are learning how to live more honestly, intentionally, and authentically than ever before.
This is the heart of my work.
Self-Care Mastery & The Ten Pillars of Health was created from years of personal exploration, professional study, lived experience, and a deep curiosity about what truly supports healing, resilience, well-being, and sustainable living.
At its core, this work is about learning how to live with greater self-awareness, intention, compassion, and connection to yourself, your body, your relationships, and the life you are creating.
It is designed for women who are seeking a more grounded and supportive way of living, women who are ready to slow down, reconnect with themselves, strengthen self-trust, and create healthier, more sustainable rhythms physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
Through reflection, education, mindful self-care practices, supportive mentorship, and embodied awareness, this work encourages women to reconnect with their inner wisdom, honor their needs, and cultivate lives rooted in greater balance, clarity, resilience, and authenticity.
Rather than striving for perfection or becoming someone new, the intention is to help you return to yourself with greater honesty, compassion, and awareness. And while that return may feel unfamiliar at first, it is often because you are learning how to live more intentionally and authentically than ever before.
The Ten Pillars of Health serve as a compassionate and practical guide for understanding the interconnected relationship between physical health, emotional well-being, nervous system regulation, mindset, relationships, lifestyle, environment, and sense of purpose.
Restorative Yoga & The Art of Self-Care is the embodied practice of Self-Care Mastery, where self-awareness, mindful movement, nervous system support, breath, reflection, and intentional self-care come together in a grounded and experiential way.
These classes are designed to help you slow down, reconnect with your body, and develop a deeper awareness of how stress, tension, emotions, habits, and life experiences are carried and expressed physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Through gentle movement, guided breathwork, somatic awareness, rest, and reflective practices, participants are invited to cultivate a more compassionate and responsive relationship with themselves and their overall well-being.
This is not a traditional fitness-based yoga class. The focus is not performance or perfection, but presence, awareness, embodiment, and learning how to support the body and nervous system with greater intention and care.
As an extension of Self-Care Mastery & The Ten Pillars of Health, this practice encourages participants to explore the relationship between the body, the mind, emotional well-being, self-awareness, lifestyle, stress, boundaries, resilience, and sustainable self-care practices in a way that feels accessible, supportive, and deeply human.
Whether you are seeking a season of restoration, emotional balance, nervous system support, mindful movements, or simply a quieter and more intentional way of caring for yourself, these classes offer a space to pause, breathe, reflect, reconnect, and return to yourself with greater compassion and awareness.
The Healing Circle is the community and connection-centered extension of Self-Care Mastery & The Ten Pillars of Health.
These gatherings are designed to bring women together in meaningful and supportive ways through shared conversation, reflection, themed discussions, mindful practices, and the experience of being witnessed and supported in community.
Each circle centers around specific life themes and experiences that many women quietly carry, stress, burnout, caregiving, boundaries, relationships, grief, life transitions, self-worth, emotional overwhelm, resilience, and the ongoing process of learning how to care for ourselves with greater awareness and intention.
Through intentional conversation, reflective practices, nourishing food, gentle movement, grounding experiences, journaling, and compassionate connection, participants are invited to explore both their personal experiences and the collective wisdom that emerges when women gather honestly and authentically.
Each participant will receive the Self-Care Mastery & The Ten Pillars of Health Workbook as a companion guide for continued reflection, self-awareness, and support beyond the gathering itself.
The Healing Circle is not about fixing yourself or having all the answers. It is about creating space for honesty, connection, self-awareness, support, and the reminder that healing and growth are often strengthened through community, conversation, and shared humanity.
At its heart, The Healing Circle is a return to something many of us have been missing:
Face-to-face connection, compassionate support, meaningful conversation, and the tangible lived experience of not having to carry life alone.
Whether you are looking for gentle movement, meaningful conversation, personalized guidance, or supportive community, my offerings are designed to meet you where you are. We’ll begin with a free discovery call and explore what kind of support feels most aligned with your needs, your lifestyle, and your overall well-being.
Caring for the women in our community matters deeply to me. A portion of my time and energy is dedicated to offering support, connection, and accessible self-care resources for women navigating difficult seasons of life. I believe that compassion, shared experiences, and human connection have the power to create meaningful and lasting impact.
One Final Thought.....
Now more than ever, we need one another.
In a world that has become increasingly disconnected, distracted, and digitally driven, I believe there is something profoundly restorative about returning to genuine human connection, face-to-face conversations, shared experiences, compassionate community, and simply feeling seen, heard, and supported by one another.
My hope is to create spaces that bring us back to ourselves and back to each other through presence, reflection, conversation, learning, co-regulation, and meaningful connection rooted in compassion, honesty, and shared humanity.
This work is not about perfection. It is about creating more intentional, grounded, and supportive ways of living, caring for ourselves, and showing up for one another. It has taken me a long time to learn that by taking care of myself and prioritizing my own needs allows for me to show up for others in a more present and meaningful way.
Consider this my personal invitation to slow down, reconnect, and be part of a more compassionate and grassroots approach to self-care, community, and well-being.
Come as you are.
With Love & Grace,
Susan
